DiaForce Technology

The DiaForce technology is used for the production of diatoms, polyculture algae.

  • 100% outdoor technology.
  • Continuous process.
  • Automated harvesting

DiaForce is a very flexible technology that is suitable to many production environments. It works with polycultures as opposed to monocultures used in classic open ponds. Blowing Diatoms of the substrata after lifting them from the water concentrates the biomass x 100. DiaForce enables daily harvesting and reduces the water volume for centrifuging the algae out of the water to approximately 1%.

  • SBAE designed its own substrata, which let water and nutrients circulate through the entire system in order to feed the algae culture.
  • SBAE’s triangle carriers facilitate the harvesting process. Algae are not obtained anymore by the filtration of water but by collection of the algal biomass that grow on the substrates. This reduces the cost for centrifuging the algae out of the water. This method enables a daily harvesting and does not require to drain the water out of the system.
  • Depending on the application, different post treatment systems will be used in order to obtain algae in different formats.

Facts about DiaForce

  • DiaForce is SBAE’s patented technology for industrial production of Diatoms, a subgroup of algae.
  • DiaForce pumps water through channels filled with artificial carriers on which the Diatoms attach, in fact imitating mountain rivers.
  • DiaForce is a flexible technology as it is suited for many production environments.
  • DiaForce is suited for attached Diatoms. It enables the cultivation of the most adequate species for each region and climate.
    • DiaForce works perfectly with sea, fresh or brackish water.
    • DiaForce technology does not require agricultural land and is adaptable to warm and arid regions.
